CREATIVE MOVEMENT GATHERING
Monthly Creative Movement Gathering offers a safe, non-judgemental space for us to consciously connect to our bodies, and express ourselves and explore relational dynamics and seasonal/timely themes through spontaneous, creative movement.
What happens in the class?
The class is guided through Warm-Up, Movement Exploration (main part), and Closure/Sharing at the end. Warm-Up is a good place to slowly start getting in touch with our bodies and noticing body-felt sensations. For the Movement Exploration, we let our bodies guide us. The course of the activity is adjusted according to the needs of the participants. Music will be there to assist movement and props and/or drawings can be incorporated depending on the process of the sessions. Closure/Sharing circle is an important space for everyone to come together and reflect on what has happened in the session, as well as acknowledging “where we are at” at the end of the session.
You may move alone, with someone else, and with the whole group.
You can join within your physical mobility limits and there is no need for previous dance experiences or dance skills.

Things to consider
This class is not a therapy but can be therapeutic as it is facilitated using Dance Movement Therapy approaches. Spontaneous movement exploration could trigger materials that are stored deep in our unconscious. Although our diverse emotional experiences are welcomed and valued in the space, it is advised to attend with this in mind and seek external support if you need to. Please contact me in advance if you have any mental health concerns so we can discuss.
☆Participants Feedback☆
“It was a very comfortable and pleasurable experience for me.
I found you a very generous, clear and safe facilitator.”
☆
“Freeing, energising, nourishing.”
☆
“My experience was of gentle and joyful play with my body and with others. I so loved the sense of playfulness and creativity.
You held such a warm and safe(r) space for us to explore how we might move our bodies in fun and different ways.
I really appreciated the circle that was created between all of us, and the shared joy and journey we went on. I especially loved playing with “props”, and letting the silliness guide an emerging story. ”
Sorry - that class has already taken place!
